The Future Logistics Workforce will be Smaller but Smarter: Unitechnik

MD of Unitechnik FZE, Hans Ettengruber, forsees the advent of hi-technology requiring fewer but better qualified personnel in the field

Continuing the first session of the Future of Logistics conference, host and moderator of the Future of Logistics conference Lars Jensen, asked panellists if automation technologies of today were ready to be used in transport and logistics operations and how can we make sure we have the trained manpower in place to deploy state-of-the-art tech to the fullest.

Mr Hans Ettengruber, Managing Director – Unitechnik FZE said that the automated systems his company supplies to customers, generally helps to reduce the work force.

This workforce, however, will have to have the right technical skills in order to mae the most of the hi-tech systems and equipment that they will be operating.

Mr Ettengruber said: “Fewer people but they have to have higher qualifications to operate the systems.”
