DHL Saloodo!, DP World Win Most Innovative Company in Technology Award

Watch these innovators make history by jointly winning at the TLME Heroes of the Pandemic Awards 2021

For the first time in TLME Awards' history two companies have jointly won an award.

DHL's Saloodo! and DP World have jointly won the prestigious Most Innovative Company in Technology Award at the TLME Heroes of the Pandemic Awards 2021 hosted by TV news presenter Katie Jensen with Celebrity and 2x World Champion Boxer, Amir Khan presenting the Special Recognition Awards.

This was a really special outcome, as quite unbelievably, there was a dead-heat in the voting process and the two remained tied till the very end. It seemed nothing could split these two magnificent companies in their technology innovation efforts.

In a rapidly digitalising world, transport and logistics companies have had to make special efforts to keep up with the advances and applications of state-of-the-art technologies.

In the above video Mr Maier says: "We are super proud and super happy to be recognised. It is a recognition for our teams and the work they have done."

Mr Maier adds: "I dont know how many know this but Deutsche Post DHL started its business endaevours in 1490. Thats two years before Columbus reached America. Ever since, we have been innovating, changing, coming up with new ideas and adapting to the environment using new technologies.

"In the pandemic we have taken the chance to bring digitalisation to the trucking world. We established Saloodo! our one and only road fleet platform. We accelerated its rollout during the pandemic and are now connecting 25 countries in the region seamlessly and digitally."

Mr Maier believes that companies like Saloodo! will play a greater role in the supply chain of the future. The pandemic has brought the supply chain industry into sharp focus with its people being recognised today for their extraordinary efforts in keeping trade and the economies of the world ticking along.

From recently digitalising all its customer transactions, expanding its e-commerce-based operations, to even exploring the possibilities of applying quantum computing technology to increase effeciencies, DP World is making every effort to use the power of technology in its day-to-day operations to realize better and better outcomes.

In this video Mr Al Najjar says the Most Innovative Company in Technology Award reflects the mindset at DP World, which is to continously embed innovation in its operations.

Mr Al Najjar said: "The early adoption of this mindset allows us to be ready for a situation like the pandemic and be resilient, react quickly and be able to continue operations without interruption.

"The efforts of our teams and our leadership have been translated in action and great results."

With the opinions expressed in the exclusive interviews and such an array of outstanding achievements made during very challenging times of the pandemic, both companies have proved themselves to be worthy winners of this very important technology award.
