Danzas has been doing extraordinary work in pharma and healthcare logistics all through the pandemic keeping regional and global supply chains moving while getting all kinds of general and critical cargo along with medical supplies and vaccines to where they need to go, reliably and on-time, every time.
Danzas managed to not only safely keep operations going in the pandemic, but has surpassed pre-pandemic service levels in a massive effort. This has been much appreciated by the voters, making them winners of two key Heroes of the Pandemic Awards.
In this exclusive video interview Mr Schreiber describes how the “whole world was waiting” for vaccines and how DHL mobilised all the resources at its disposal to meet global demand for vaccines in the remotest of regions.
On the logistics of delivering PPEs, Mr Schreiber recalled: “I still remember the first time we put PPE equipment on board the first aircraft during the second wave. We had hundreds of people around the world carrying out different tasks at the time.
“We needed to have proper packaging, temperature cooling, we needed a fleet of aircraft to deliver around the world and of course, the last-mile delivery in very remote places. This required a global approach. Connecting people and improving lives. That’s what we do at DHL.”
Ending on an optimistic note, Mr Schreiber said that he believed the future was bright. Economies and people’s lives will get a big boost once the pandemic was over.
