The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) signed a contract with Q Saudi Company to begin developing and operating an integrated logistics center at Yanbu Commercial Port.

The project, valued at over US$8 million and covering an area of 120,490 square meters, will contribute to increasing the port's capacity, aligning with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to solidify the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub.

This initiative is part of Mawani's efforts to develop the infrastructure of the Kingdom's ports, increase the private sector's contribution to the GDP, and enhance Yanbu Commercial Port's role as a pivotal center on the Red Sea.

The contract was signed by His Excellency the President of the Saudi Ports Authority, Engineer Sulaiman bin Khalid Al-Mazrou, and His Excellency the CEO of Q Saudi Company, Mr. Abdullah Naeem Qarnabish, in the presence of several officials.

The project aims to achieve several economic benefits, including attracting investments from national and international shipping and transport companies, creating direct and indirect job opportunities that support economic development.

This will be achieved through the establishment of cargo storage and redistribution centers, which will meet the needs of national and international shipping and transport companies and contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Yanbu Commercial Port is one of the oldest seaports on the west coast and is the second gateway for the arrival and departure of pilgrims.

It includes 12 berths with a handling capacity exceeding 13.5 million tons, as well as a passenger terminal with a capacity of 2,000 passengers, a general cargo terminal, and two silos for storing bulk materials with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes each.
