Mawani Adds 'JPS' Shipping Service by CULines to Jeddah Islamic Port
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the new shipping service 'JPS' by CULines to Jeddah Islamic Port. This initiative aims to enhance maritime connectivity between the Kingdom and the world while supporting national exports and imports.
This step aligns with Mawani’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with leading regional and global shipping lines to achieve international leadership.
It is also in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to solidify the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub connecting the three continents.
The JPS shipping service links Jeddah Islamic Port with Port of Sudan, offering a handling capacity of 450 TEUs.
Notably, Jeddah Islamic Port boasts 62 multi-purpose berths, a logistics service area for storage and re-export, and a direct truck transport system to and from the port.
The port also features several specialized terminals and advanced facilities, including two container terminals with a combined handling capacity of 7.5 million TEUs, two general cargo terminals, two ship repair docks, and marine service berths for towing and maritime guidance. The port’s total handling capacity reaches 130 million tonnes.
