The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced that Emirates Line and Wan Hai has added the new shipping service “IM2” to Jeddah Islamic Port, in a move that supports the competitiveness of Saudi ports, facilitates global trade, opens new horizons for business activity, and enhances operational efficiency at the port.

The new service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with three regional and global ports: Mundra in India, Alexandria in Egypt, and Mersin in Turkey, with a total handling capacity of 2,800 TEUs.

This initiative is part of Mawani’s ongoing efforts to elevate the Kingdom’s position in global performance indicators and to support national exports. It aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy “NTLS”, to solidify the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging the three continents.

It is worth noting that Jeddah Islamic Port features 62 multi-purpose berths, a logistics services park for warehousing and re-export, and a direct truck transport system to and from the port.

It also houses several specialized terminals and state-of-the-art facilities, including two container terminals with a combined handling capacity of 7.5 million TEUs, two general cargo terminals, two dry docks for ship repair and maintenance, and a range of marine service berths. The port’s total capacity reaches 130 million tonnes.
