FedEx Launches Full End-to-End Logistics Capabilities in Saudi Arabia

In a strategic move amplifying its global network, FedEx has officially launched direct‑serve logistics services in Saudi Arabia.

The milestone marks a significant evolution in the company’s logistics offerings, enabling FedEx to deliver seamless, end-to-end freight forwarding and express shipping services directly from the USA and Europe into the Kingdom.

The announcement was made at a launch ceremony attended by H.E. Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the Transport General Authority and FedEx President and CEO, Raj Subramaniam, among others.

Completing the Direct-Serve Transition with Direct Flights

FedEx’s direct-serve transition is a culmination of years of investment in infrastructure, operations, and workforce development.

This initiative includes the introduction of the first dedicated FedEx cargo flights into Saudi Arabia, making FedEx the only express logistics provider with nonstop air connections from both the United States and Europe.

Complementing these flights, FedEx has plans to establish a regional hub at Riyadh's King Salman International Airport. The hub will serve as a major gateway linking international markets with not only Saudi Arabia, but also neighboring Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries such as Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.

End-to-End Services

A key advantage of the direct-serve setup is FedEx will now manage the complete shipping lifecycle in-house. From pickup and delivery to customs clearance, everything is now handled through FedEx's own local infrastructure, which includes four gateways and four stations across the Kingdom.

In 2021, FedEx had already committed over US$400 million toward its direct‑serve transition, signaling long-term investment in talent, operations, and logistics capabilities.
