Move in line with strategy to protect the rights of consumers and traders
The Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in Dubai Economy has set up an awareness platform at the Dubai International Airport, as part of enhancing confidence among visitors on shopping in Dubai and the UAE.
The platform will be located at the arrival area of the airport until 20th September, 2019.
It is in line with the CCCP’s strategy to protect the rights of consumers and traders, and promote transparency across buying and selling in Dubai.
Abdulla Al Shehhi, Deputy CEO of the CCCP, said, "Increasing consumer awareness is one of our major goals, and through the awareness platform, we seek to make consumers and traders of different nationalities more confident about the economic environment in Dubai.
“It also seeks to represent the competitiveness and quality of services available to consumers in Dubai, enhance commercial transactions, and strengthen the overall economy in the emirate and the UAE."
Dubai Economy is keen to diversify channels of communication with the public, especially visitors and residents in Dubai, and protect their rights relating to transactions done in Dubai, irrespective of whether the consumer is in the UAE or not.
Initiatives such as the awareness platform enable the CCCP to reach out to the largest segment of potential consumers and ensure that justice prevails across buying and selling in Dubai.
Al Shehhi added: "The CCCP’s team briefs passengers arriving at the airport about our role and services in regulating economic activity and protecting the rights of consumers and traders.
“They also respond to queries from visitors and assist them in accessing our services on their smartphones from anywhere in the world."
