In his next question TLME Chairman Joe Beydoun asks CEO & Founder of SolitAir, Hamdi Osman about technology adoption across the logistics industry, particularly intermodal logistics, and what needs to be done to make supply chain operations more efficient and seamless.
Mr Osman said that with the new technologies like AI and blockchain being used across all modes air, sea and road, there was a “lot of movement” in this area.
But the “language” of different technologies and systems was still different and needed to become more uniform and seamless. That will likely happen through technology #disruptions that SolitAir always on the lookout for. “Do it right the first time, and every time”, that is the company motto.
According to Mr Osman, the best way to create the most efficient and user-friendly logistics systems is to “mechanise the routine processes and humanise the exceptions”. This way you save time and costs in routine tasks but your customers have the option to speak to someone when they encounter problems. Thus making best use of available resources.
