Bani Yas - Al Heeliya Road Inaugurated

To improve the traffic flow between Abu Dhabi and Dubai

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) inaugurated Bani Yas – Al Heeliya Road with the length of 3.5 kms and a cost of $14.7 million.

The road links Al Heeliya area to Al Moazaz and Al Shamkha south by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Road (E311).

The road will serve the residential areas located in the project’s area and will facilitate the travel of Higher Colleges of Technology students and improve the traffic flow between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

ITC assured that the cooperation with Musanada is a significant factor to implement and develop projects that keep up with the urban development and population increasing to create an integrated infrastructure that accomplish Abu Dhabi’s economic, tourism and social objectives and improve the quality of life.

Musanada stated that the project was implemented according to the highest standards and practices. It also mentioned that 350 engineers, consultants and workers participated in the implementation of the project that will link different areas and facilitate the traffic in addition to increase the level of safety.

The main challenge faced the project was keeping the traffic flow during the constructional work. Therefore, about 78 traffic board, 12 signage and 121 LED lights were implemented - which will consequently reduce energy consumption.

Musanada assured that it strives to conserve energy and decrease the operating cost along with following the environmental safety requirements.
