Trade Tech Supports UAE MPCI Full Enforcement as Grace Period Ends

From October 1, UAE MPCI filing is mandatory for all cargo moving to, through or via the UAE

Trade Tech, a global logistics technology platform, is actively supporting customers as the UAE's Maritime Pre-Load Cargo Information (MPCI) program enters full enforcement. MPCI filing is now mandatory for all cargo moving to, through or via the UAE.

Certified by the UAE's National Advance Information Center (NAIC) as an official MPCI service provider in August 2025, Trade Tech has spent more than a year filing under the program, onboarding customers and refining operational workflows during the grace period, giving customers a running start on full enforcement.

Bryn Heimbeck, President/CEO of Trade Tech said: "UAE MPCI is the 37th advance cargo security filing program we have supported, and we have spent the past year supporting it with our customers.

"Our focus now is straightforward: helping shipping lines, freight forwarders and NVOCCs submit complete, accurate and timely filings, so their cargo keeps moving from day one of mandatory filing."

The temporary flexibility available during the transition period no longer applies. From today, MPCI filing is mandatory and all filings are subject to the standard NAIC response process.

Complete, accurate and timely information is essential to keep cargo moving to, through or via the UAE, including planned shipments, changes to vessel routes, and shipments later identified as UAE-bound.

Each filing will receive an ACT (Assessment Complete) response from NAIC. The absence of an ACT may become a problem later, when Customs clearance is required and the record is checked.

Trade Tech gives customers a direct connection to NAIC and significant experience in advance cargo security filing.

All filings are handled through Syrinx Trade Security, one of the modules within the Trade Tech platform, with built-in checks that flag issues before information is sent, and are supported by regulatory and operational expertise across Trade Tech's global support teams.

Customers have four filing options for MPCI, including self or managed full service or EDI connectivity.

Security filing can be delivered as an independent service, but it is far more effective when combined with the wider shipment management process, including booking and shipping instructions with carriers and the work carried out between origin and

destination stations. In that context, visibility becomes a natural by-product of compliance, which is a real benefit for all parties involved.

For more than two decades, Trade Tech has supported filing with Customs, security and advance cargo information requirements worldwide, including U.S. AMS/ISF, EU ICS2 ENS, Canada ACI and eManifest, Mexico AMS, GB ENS, South Africa RCG and Japan AFR, alongside other national and regional requirements.

Trade Tech connects to more than 150 airlines, 30 ocean carriers and 37 Customs authorities, processing over 600,000 filings per month.
