Suez Canal Authority Chairman Among Top 10 CEOs in the Middle East

For the second year in a row, Forbes has named SCA Chairman Adm. Osama Rabie among top 10 CEOs in the Middle East

Forbes has selected Adm. Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, among the top 10 CEOs in the Middle East for 2022, for the logistics sector.

This year's Forbes list included 100 business leaders from 26 different nationalities who are executive leaders of the most important institutions that contribute to the growth of the economies of the Middle East.

Adm. Osama Rabie was chosen in the tenth place on the Forbes list, and this selection comes for the second year in a row, as his Excellency was chosen as one of the top 10 CEOs in the Middle East over the past year.

The move came in appreciation of tireless efforts exerted by the Suez Canal Authority and its success in setting new and unprecedented records despite various global challenges.

Suez Canal Records Highest Number of Transits in a Single Day

Navigation statistics of the year 2021 has recorded the passing of 20,694 ships, with a total net tonnage of 1.3 billion tonnes, achieving the highest annual revenue in the history of the canal of $6.3 billion.

The canal's navigation statistics during the fiscal year 2021/2022 also set new records, achieving the highest annual net tonnage for a fiscal year of 1.32 billion tonnes, and the highest annual financial revenue of $7 billion, exceeding all previously recorded figures.
