The MSC Michel Cappellini arrived in Bremerhaven ahead of her big day – the naming ceremony and celebration.

The celebration on the quay next to her is set to be spectacular, with artistic performances, speeches as well as the ceremonial ribbon cutting and champagne bottle breaking.

MSC Michel Cappellini is 400 metres long and can carry up to 24,346 containers. She belongs to MSC's brand-new Celestino Maresca class, which succeeds and surpasses the Gülsün class in the liner's next innovative category of ultra-large container ships.

A total of 14 vessels will join this new class. These giants are not only the largest vessels by total capacity of any shipping line, but also the most fuel-efficient containers ships by design.
