MSC Signs MoU with Egypt's Transport Ministry to Cooperate in Managing and Operating Ports

To also establish 'Tahia Misr2' a multipurpose terminal project at Berth100 at Dekheila port

Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel El Wazir, deputy Prime Minister of Egypt and Minister for Industrial Development, Industry and Transport held discussions with Soren Toft, CEO, MSC for joint cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.

El Wazir praised cooperation with MSC in a number of important projects in Egypt such as the project of the dry port and logistics region in 10th Ramadan city and establishment of “Tahia Misr2” multipurpose terminal project at Berth100 at Dekheila port.

He pointed out that the ministry welcomes cooperation with all international companies and that the investment climate in Egypt is promising  and there are many investment opportunities in the field of transport, dry ports and logistics.

MSC CEO Soren Toft, expressed his happiness with the meeting and cooperation with Egyptian Transport ministry in a number of important projects.

The two sides agreed to further discuss a cooperation framework. Mr El Wazir witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Land and Maritime Transport holding company affiliated to Transport ministry and Swiss international  MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA.

The memorandum was signed by Dr. Amr Mustafa  of the Land and Maritime Transport Holding Company and Soren Toft.

The agreement aims to increase handling operations at Egyptian ports, create new job opportunities and support Egyptian economy through increasing revenues from maritime transport and logistics sector.
