Mawani Showcases Investment Opportunities at Transport Logistic 2023

King Abdulaziz Port offered visitors a glimpse into its best-in-class solutions and cutting-edge equipment

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has taken part in this year’s Transport Logistic trade fair held in Munich, Germany on 9-12 May to exhibits its world class offerings and promote its investment potential on a global scale.

Represented by King Abdulaziz Port and its container terminal operator Saudi Global Ports (SGP), the latest participation is key to the Mawani’s mission to highlight the Kingdom as a major logistics hub that drives international trade and strengthens supply chains under the guidance of the National Transport & Logistics Strategy (NTLS).

As the only port from the Middle East region to attend the event alongside big names from around the world, King Abdulaziz Port offered visitors a glimpse into its best-in-class solutions and cutting-edge equipment besides underscoring its role as a key gateway for trade on the Arabian Gulf with access to global markets.

Ranked fourteenth in the World Bank’s Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) for 2021, the Dammam based hub handled a record 2,038,787 TEUs in annual container volumes during 2022.

History was also made in March this year when 18,553 TEUs were processed aboard a single vessel, making it the highest throughput of its kind ever achieved on Saudi shores.

Launched in 1978, Transport Logistic is a leading biannual exhibition for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management that provides a unique platform for industry networking, knowledge sharing, and displaying game-changing innovations.
