At a celebration on February 8, attended by dignitaries from DP World, A.P. Moller - Maersk announced the shift of its services from the Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) in Jeddah to the Dubai Port World Terminal (DPW).

This strategic move aims to enhance service delivery by consolidating operations into a single terminal, achieving operational excellence. This is part of Maersk's and Hapag-Lloyd AG's global Gemini cooperation, which commenced on February 1, 2025.

Mohammed Amer – CX Director, Maersk Saudi Arabia said: "The Gemini cooperation will provide our Saudi customers with additional capacity, enhanced reliability, reduced transit times, and efficient connectivity to key trade routes across Asia and Europe.

"This network supports Jeddah's transformation into a global logistics hub in line with Saudi Vision 2030."

By utilizing DPW, Maersk gains access to a major transshipment hub in the region, potentially facilitating smoother cargo movement across various trade routes.
