The UAE cabinet has recently approved the creation of a "Logistics Integration Council" with the primary goal of solidifying the country's position as a major global trade hub by coordinating efforts across different logistics sectors, including ports, transport, and customs, to ensure seamless trade flow.

Chaired by H.E. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, the Council aims to streamline logistics operations and facilitate efficient movement of goods by aligning efforts between various government entities involved in trade.

The council is expected to enhance the UAE's competitiveness in international trade by optimizing logistics processes and reducing bottlenecks.

Focus areas of the Council will include infrastructure development, customs clearance procedures, transportation networks, and coordination between different ports and airports.

Also during the meeting, held at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi, the Cabinet approved the National Cybersecurity Strategy, focusing on governance, protection, innovation and strengthening partnerships to ensure a secure digital environment.

In addition, the Cabinet reviewed updates on the high-speed train project linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and approved the API-First Policy to streamline digital system integration across ministries.
