Bahri Advances Saudi Defence Supply Chain Localisation with New Agreements

Deals signed at the World Defence Show target stronger in-Kingdom logistics and greater supply chain resilience

At the World Defense Show this week, Bahri announced the signing of two agreements aimed at strengthening and localizing supply chains across Saudi Arabia’s defence and security sectors.

The agreements were formalized during the global defence exhibition, which has become a key platform for international and domestic companies to showcase capabilities and build strategic partnerships.

Bahri, one of the Kingdom’s leading logistics and transportation providers, said the deals mark a practical step toward supporting national objectives to increase local content and reduce reliance on foreign supply networks.

According to company representatives, the agreements focus on developing integrated logistics solutions tailored to defence and security requirements.

This includes enhancing maritime transport services, improving warehousing and distribution capabilities inside the Kingdom, and enabling more efficient movement of critical equipment and materials.

By localising key elements of the supply chain, Bahri aims to ensure faster response times, improved operational readiness, and greater resilience in times of crisis. Officials emphasized that a strong domestic logistics base is essential for supporting defence manufacturing, maintenance, and long-term sustainment programs.

Commenting on the agreements, Eng. Soror Basalom, President of Bahri Logistics, said: “These agreements represent an extension of our strategy aimed at building high-value partnerships with leading national entities and providing flexible logistics solutions that support business sustainability and keep pace with growth aspirations.

"This aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop the logistics services sector and strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub.”

Industry observers note that supply chain resilience has become a strategic priority worldwide, especially in sectors tied to national security. By anchoring more logistics capabilities within the Kingdom, Saudi Arabia seeks to safeguard critical operations while fostering economic diversification.

Bahri’s leadership described the move as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting Vision 2030 objectives. The company has expanded its role in specialized logistics over recent years, positioning itself as a key enabler of industrial growth and strategic sectors.

With the new agreements in place, Bahri is expected to play a larger role in connecting local manufacturers, government entities, and global partners through a more robust and localized supply network.

As Saudi Arabia continues to invest in domestic defence capabilities, initiatives such as these signal a clear focus on building sustainable, homegrown supply chains designed to meet long-term national security needs.
