New tri-temperature logistics platform in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire
Bolloré Transport & Logistics has announced the launch of AEROHUB, a new 15,000 sq mtr platform in Côte d’Ivoire in April 2019.
Located near Abidjan international airport and less than 15 km from the port terminal, AEROHUB will foster the development of national and sub-regional logistics activities.
AEROHUB is a new tri-temperature platform – with negative cold (-20°C), positive cold (2°C to 10°C) and ambient temperature – designed for the reception, storage and distribution of a range of goods.
These goods include food products (dry, fresh and frozen), pharmaceutical products and high-value-added tech products.
Said Thierry Ehrenbogen, Deputy CEO of Bolloré Transport & Logistics: “AEROHUB is a tri-temperature platform bringing together all the expertise of Bolloré Transport & Logistics in logistics hubs.
“Designed to meet the needs of our customers in Côte d’Ivoire, AEROHUB will support the development of the country’s economy by serving as a strategic connection point between sea and air logistics flows.
“It will also favour inter-African trade – a central aspect in our current strategy – for the enhanced economic integration of Africa.”
The new site will feature a warehouse management system ensuring real-time goods traceability and 24-7 security systems operational throughout the warehouse.
The new AEROHUB platform also embodies the CSR commitments of Bolloré Transport & Logistics in favour of the environment.
On opening, AEROHUB will be fully equipped with a low energy consumption (LED) lighting system with movement detectors and a storm-water holding reservoir.
Further projects aimed at shrinking the company’s environmental footprint are under review to supplement the systems implemented in the initial phase of the project.
