Freight forwarding giant UPS is to develop e-trucks along with a US-based startup, signalling a change in the way trucking is practiced as the industry moves to automated and electric technology.

Thor Trucks is the startup UPS are working with on trucks that are aimed to be delivered by the end of 2018.

The truck is presently set to undertake tests for a 6-month period and will be part of UPS’s plan to add 9,300 low-emission vehicles, including all-electric, hybrid electric and CNG, to its fleet.
