Emirates SkyCargo Wins Coveted Hero of the Pandemic - Air Cargo Award

Dennis Lister, VP Commercial and Product Development expresses delight, thanks SkyCargo team and partners

Emirates SkyCargo walked away with the much-coveted Hero of the Pandemic (Air Cargo) Award at the TLME Heroes of the Pandemic Awards 2021 hosted by TV news presenter Katie Jensen with A-list celebrity and 2x world champion boxer, Amir Khan presenting the Special Recognition Awards.

The coronavirus pandemic has tested airlines like never before. With massive jump in demand, cargo carriers have had to think on their feet everyday as changing regulations and restrictions made safety measure and secure operations more complicated than ever.

Emirates SkyCargo managed to meet these unprecendented demands and keep up with ever-changing customer requirements - and then some more.

From vaccine distribution to setting up freezer farms, from pharmaceuticals to Emirates Fresh cargo, its cold chain not only maintained smooth operations but significantly enhanced capacities.

Using innovative digital technologies to streamline the supply chain and deploying creative methods like passenger-to-frieghter conversions and executing quick turnarounds, and keeping its pilots and crew safe, Emirates SkyCargo stepped up to the plate in heroic style in an hour of crisis.

In the above Exclusive Red Carpet Video Mr Dennis Lister, VP Commercial and Product Development, Emirates SkyCargo says: "We are delighted to receive this award.

"But let me be clear, this is based on a lot of hard work through a very, very difficult time and a lot of gratitude to all our partners and for all the support we have received from the entire Emirates SkyCargo organisation.

"This is really just the start. If you look at what we've shipped in the last year, we have flown more than a 150 million vaccines across the entire world to more than 80 countries.

"I think this sector needs cargo capacity more than ever. At Emirates we will continue to fly and continue to support these countries and ensure that we continue to support them at the hardest times."

Mr Lister finishes by saying: "Its been a great evening and really grateful for the event orgnisers arranging this event and also very grateful to all our partners including the NGOs, the International Humanitarian City, UNICEF, World Health Organisation and particularly, all the the hard-working people that go unnoticed in these difficult times."
