Emirates & Alaska Airlines in Codeshare Agreement

New agreement extends to cargo as well as passenger traffic

The US Department of Transportation has approved a codeshare agreement between Alaska Airlines and Dubai-based airliner Emirates.

The CAPA - Center for Aviation has stated that in its nature the decision covers cargo services operated by Emirates from the UAE, via the UAE and intermediate points to points in the US and beyond, as well as between the US and any points.

Emirates Airlines originally signed a codeshare agreement with Alaskan Airlines in 2015 focussed on air passengers, however this update applies to freight forwarders as well.

In June 2018, Alaskan Airlines merged with Virgin America.
