Air Cargo Logistics Today is Close to What it was Pre-pandemic: Fabio Weiss

Things today had slowed down and the industry was facing overcapacity issues again

Speaking at the TLME Future of Logistics Conference Part 3 held recently in Dubai Fabio Weiss, VP, Head of Air Freight MEA at DHL Global Forwarding said that airfreight logistics operations were returning to the levels existing prior to the pandemic.

Mr Weiss was replying to conference moderator Lars Jensen who asked if things were returning to normal for air cargo operations.

Mr Weiss said that compared to the two or three years of the pandemic, things today had slowed down and the industry was facing overcapacity issues once again. However, the challenge of getting your goods where you want them - and on time - still remains.

Sustainability has now become more important for carriers and customers alike but apart from that the industry is closer today to the state of play before the pandemic, Mr Weiss concluded.
