Hutchison Ports Dammam Wins Gender Equality Award

Hutchison Ports Dammam has won the Award for Promotion of Gender Equality 2019 at the TLME Excellence Awards in Dubai.

The event was of special note as it saw TLME utilise a public voting system that garnered millions of international votes to choose winners as if it were a “presidential election” – a first for a supply chain-based event in the Middle East region.

TLME CEO Sam Khan said: “The supply chain has long-been seen as a ‘male’ domain, yet in the present world we have seen women having a greater and greater influence as obstacles have been dissolved allowing a raft of talent to flourish.

“Further, as the roles demanded of us within the chain have changed, so have the gender dynamics around them. This means that many of the leaders in the supply chain today are women, each offering pioneering thought, consistently high performance and a commitment to a better tomorrow.

“This award celebrates the companies that have worked to ensure all avenues are open for men and women to become the best version of themselves.
