Bahrain International Air Show Sees Big UAE Participation

15 defense, security and aviation companies at Emirates National Pavilion

The Bahrain International Air Show (BIAF), held from the 14 to 16 November, saw high participation from UAE-based companies across the defense, security and aviation sectors.

Showcasing the latest systems, equipment and air products, 15 UAE companies took part in the event, exhibiting at the National Pavilion of the United Arab Emirates during the air show.

Sultan Al-Samahi, Acting Director General of the Emirates Council for Defense Companies, said: “The Emirates National Pavilion, managed by the Emirates Defense Companies (EDCC), welcomed a remarkable number of companies servicing the aviation and aerospace sectors. These included manufacturing, autonomous systems, maps, and MRO.

“This year’s event has been a huge success, seen in the number of delegates alone and we are very excited to be part of this event here in Abu Dhabi,” said Sultan Abdulla al Samahi, EDCC’s Acting General Manager.

Several key companies attended the National Pavilion, including:

Abu Dhabi Aviation: The largest helicopter operator in the Middle East and North Africa with 51 helicopters and 4 fixed-wing aircraft. The company provides marine and gas support services to oil and gas companies offshore and in Abu Dhabi.

Royal Jet: A the leading provider of luxury aviation services, the company has introduced its services and products related to aviation services for VIPs and Royal aviation, and MaxMus Aviation - a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group, the largest air cargo operator in the UAE, Shipping & Logistics Air Cargo.

AMROC: A joint venture company owned by Mubadala Development Company; Sikorsky; and Lockheed Martin, aims to provide the best service in maintenance, repair and overhaul of military aircraft for a wide range of fixed and rotary wing aircraft region in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.

ADASI: One of the UAE's leading companies in the field of unmanned systems involved in providing, developing, operating, maintaining and training the best and most advanced system integration services.

Calidus: A specialist in aerospace and space technology, offers a wide range of products, advanced technological solutions, engineering designs and other innovative solutions in this field.

The Emirates Technology and Innovation Center (EITC): An expert in the development of technology research and research training, and the transfer of knowledge and technology in a wide range of research and applications related to key enabling technologies.

GAL ANS: Global Aerospace Logistics offers its aviation logistics services Including engineering, technical and maintenance services for aircraft systems, defense and solutions for training, academics, logistics management and logistics supply.

The EDCC was established as an initiative of Tawazun Economic Council and is supported by the key stakeholders: The Ministry of Defense and the GHQ of the UAE Armed Forces.

It seeks to open new horizons for the economic development in the UAE by contributing to the developing capabilities of the manufacturing sector.
