UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Passes Away

UAE's Ministry of Presidential Affairs has announced a 40-day mourning period with 3 days suspension of work in government and private sectors

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has passed away today.

In mourning, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said on his Twitter account: “After a long journey of giving and service for the nation, we bid farewell to our father and leader Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"May Allah bestow mercy on his soul and grant him paradise. The late Sheikh Khalifa touched the lives of Emiratis and peoples of Arab and Islamic nations.”

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan had served as the president of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi since November 3, 2004 and the nation mourns his passing.

The UAE's Ministry of Presidential Affairs has announced a 40-day period of mourning and a three-day suspension of work across the government and private sectors.
