Drydocks World, the Dubai-based marine and offshore services company and part of DP World’s portfolio, has begun construction of a new headquarters in Dubai that reflects its ambition to blend smart building practices with sustainable design.
The new facility, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027, will serve as a central campus for Drydocks World’s corporate and operational functions and is designed to embody the company’s growth strategy and environmental & technological commitments.
Located adjacent to its existing shipyard in Dubai, the 44,779-square-metre facility, will bring together multiple teams under one roof, enabling greater collaboration and operational efficiency.
Smart Building, Sustainability at the Core
The new head office will incorporate advanced smart-building systems covering energy management, ventilation, smart access and monitoring of building systems. In parallel, the design targets sustainability credentials, with green building principles embedded throughout.
The project underscores Drydocks World’s commitment to its own environmental agenda, and supports broader industry trends around reducing carbon footprints and improving workplace environments.
While exact figures and certification targets were not formally disclosed at the time of announcement, the company emphasised that the HQ will deliver a healthier work-place, flexible working zones, connected infrastructure and enhanced employee amenities in alignment with modern workplace expectations.
Strategic Location and Operational Advantages
Located on-site with Drydocks World’s primary yard operations in Dubai, the new office benefits from proximity to key fabrication, repair and conversion facilities.
The location also enables easier alignment between corporate teams and yard operations, and reflects the company’s orientation toward integrated, end-to-end marine and offshore services.
His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, said: “Drydocks World’s new head office represents another important milestone in our transformation.
"Across DP World, we are investing in smart, sustainable infrastructure that empowers our people and strengthens Dubai’s position as a global hub for trade and innovation.”
Captain Rado Antolovic, PhD, CEO, Drydocks World, said: “The new head office marks an important milestone in Drydocks World’s journey of transformation. It reflects our confidence in the future and our commitment to creating a workplace that enables people to perform at their best.
"By consolidating our teams into one modern, sustainable facility, we are building a stronger foundation for collaboration and innovation across every part of the business.
"The project also reinforces our alignment with DP World’s long-term strategy to deliver sustainable growth and to strengthen Dubai’s role as a global centre for maritime excellence.”
Looking Ahead
Construction is expected to progress through the coming months, with the objective of delivering a workplace fit for the next decade of growth.
The new headquarters aligns with Drydocks World’s wider strategy of modernising its fleet of facilities that signal its future is not only about scale and capacity, but also about quality, sustainability and the environment.
As the maritime and offshore sectors continue to evolve, Drydocks World’s new smart and sustainable HQ positions it to serve the next generation of clients and projects, and to reinforce Dubai’s role as a leading global maritime and engineering hub.
