In a major step toward modernizing logistics and parcel delivery, Aramex and stc Bahrain today announced the rollout of Bahrain’s first nationwide smart locker network. The initiative is positioned to transform last‐mile delivery across the Kingdom, allowing customers to pick up parcels 24/7 from secure, connected lockers in strategic locations.
Under the partnership, stc Bahrain will provide the connectivity backbone and digital infrastructure to power the smart lockers, while Aramex will deploy and operate the physical locker terminals and integrate them into its parcel delivery ecosystem.
These smart lockers are designed to offer recipients flexibility, eliminating failed delivery attempts and enabling users to collect parcels at their convenience without waiting for couriers. Real-time tracking, instant notification via mobile apps, and integrated visibility into shipments are key features enabled by stc Bahrain’s always-on connectivity.
According to the press release, Aramex has been expanding its branch footprint across Bahrain, leveraging stc’s connectivity to ensure seamless operations.

Hesham Mustafa, Chief Business Officer at stc Bahrain, said the partnership underscores their commitment to empowering operational excellence through technology.
“As the first nationwide smart lockers have been rolled out, we are proud to provide Aramex with the smart tools needed to transform package delivery in the Kingdom,” he commented.
Speaking for Aramex, Yanal Anz, General Manager, Bahrain, emphasized the importance of technology in raising service standards: “With stc Bahrain’s advanced connectivity solutions and robust network backbone supporting our logistics operations, Aramex has achieved new levels of operational excellence and delivering superior customer experiences.”
e-Commerce Drives Demand
This rollout comes as e-commerce and demand for flexible delivery options continue to climb across the Middle East. Smart lockers help reduce traffic congestion, lower last-mile delivery costs, and improve predictability in complex urban grids. For Bahrain, it represents a leap in logistics modernization.
However, the success of the network will depend on several factors: adequate density of locker deployment (so customers are within reasonable distance), system reliability, security and maintenance, and user adoption.
Ensuring synchronization with Aramex’s existing delivery routes and handling parcels that don’t fit locker sizes are also operational goals .
As of now, public information does not specify the number of lockers or precise locations, nor the timetable for full national coverage. But by combining Aramex’s logistics know-how with stc’s digital infrastructure, the two expect the network to scale rapidly across Bahrain’s major population centers.
Context in Bahrain’s logistics ecosystem
This smart locker launch follows other recent moves in Bahrain to modernize delivery and postal infrastructure. For example, the Bahrain Post recently introduced electronic parcel lockers in commercial zones as part of a national e-locker program.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has been active in digital infrastructure initiatives.
Last-Mile Backbone
If the rollout succeeds, the smart locker network could become a backbone of last-mile delivery in Bahrain, easing pressure on conventional courier systems and improving convenience for consumers and businesses alike.
Aramex and stc Bahrain will likely monitor usage patterns, refine locker placement strategies, and potentially explore extension into suburbs and rural zones.
In a region where delivery speed and flexibility are competitive differentiators, this partnership positions Bahrain to leapfrog in smart logistics - turning parcels into on-demand, customer-centric services.
