DP World ‘Strategic Partner’ for AMF 2019

Arab Media Forum sponsorship will continue until 2020

Dubai Press Club (DPC), organiser of the Arab Media Forum, has announced that DP World is the strategic partner of the 18th edition of the event.

The Forum is scheduled to be held on March 27-28 at the Dubai World Trade Center under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The partnership is part of a three-year agreement signed between DPC and global trade enabler DP World in 2018, which aims to support three consecutive editions of the major annual media event up until 2020.

Running this year under the theme ‘Arab Media: From Now to the Future’, the two-day event is expected to draw the participation of over 3,000 prominent regional and international media figures and thought leaders.

The Forum is considered an ideal platform to exchange expertise, network and learn about the latest issues concerning the media industry.

The partnership agreement between Dubai Press Club and DP World comes within the framework of existing relations between the two and reflects the desire of both entities to ensure the success of the high-profile event, which is considered the region’s biggest media gathering.

“This annual event reflects the leading role of Dubai and the UAE in stimulating constructive dialogue about relevant issues in today’s world. Importantly, it strives to make a positive contribution to driving professional development in the media industry, a sector which has a major impact on many areas in society.

“The Forum reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Crucially, it showcases the role of the UAE in fostering a qualitative transformation for Arab media, allowing it to better meet the needs and aspirations of the peoples in the region.

“DP World’s keenness to support the Arab Media Forum reflects the organisation’s belief in the constructive role that the Arab Media Forum plays,” she said, adding that the Forum annually brings together influential decision makers in the media sector to discuss ways to develop the Arab media and enhance its content, as well as understand the main challenges it faces.

Al Marri added: “We are proud to have a strategic partner like DP World, which plays a key role in the national economy and whose activities are at the core of achieving His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision for the future.”

Al Marri also noted that DP World plays an important role in implementing one of the provisions of the 50 year charter to construct the Dubai Silk Road, which seeks to establish the emirate as a global trade and logistics hub.
